TEHRAN – The Iranian health minister announces the donation of over 3,000 billion tomans (nearly $902 million) by benefactors to his ministry, IRNA reported on Friday.

Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi did not make clear the period in which the donation has been made.
Qazizadeh Hashemi, speaking to charity workers in the northern city of Sari in Mazandaran Province, said that there are currently 600 NGOs across the country, out of which 300 are active and 100 play a significant role in the healthcare sector.
He referred to the projects left unfinished, such as incomplete construction of healthcare centers and hospitals, as one of the major challenges facing the ministry under his leadership, adding that volunteers can be of tremendous help reviving such plans.
