Iran dismisses Bahraini official claims

TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham dismissed on Friday claims made by the Bahraini interior minister as “unfounded”.
Iran has always taken steps to improve stability and security in the Middle East region, Afkham said in a statement.Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa accused Iran of interfering in Bahrain’s internal affairs on Thursday.
He claimed that Iran “does not respect the values of good neighborliness”.
“Stability in the region is threatened by Takfiri terrorism and security-oriented and sectarian approaches,” Afkham said
Addressing the Bahraini officials, Afkham said that it is better for them to take “trust building” gestures to provide the ground for holding “serious dialogues” in order to resolve problems in Bahrain.
