Greece’s Aegean Airline launched direct flight between Tehran and Athens on Thursday.

Three flights between the Iranian and Greek capitals are operated per week by Airbus A320s on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, the Tasnim news agency reported.

Mehdi Jahangiri, the chairman of the Iran-Greece joint business council, said in June that the bilateral trade stands at €1.4 billion. He added that the Iranian private sector is keen to expand trade with Greece. In this line, he proposed for establishing the joint chamber of commerce as well as business centers in the two countries.
