Rouhani says nuclear agreement will benefit region

TEHRAN - The Iranian president said on Saturday that nuclear agreement between Tehran and the 5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) will benefit the region and will boost economic relations.

Hassan Rouhani made the remarks in a phone conversation with Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday.
For his part, the Pakistani president expressed satisfaction over the nuclear agreement.

In his phone conversation with Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Saturday, Rouhani said the nuclear agreement will boost security in the Mideast region.

Rouhani also said expansion of ties with neighboring countries is Iran’s priority after the nuclear agreement.

For his part, Sheikh Tamim described Rouhani’s role in the nuclear talks as “valuable” and said the agreement can be “effective” in resolving regional problems.

The Iranian president also said regional countries should cooperate to stop the activities of terrorist groups and called on the Qatari emir to help reduce tensions and establish security in the region.

The Qatari emir said that the regional problems can only be resolved through dialogue.

He condemned terrorism in the region and highlighted the importance of Iran’s status in settling regional crises.
