France ready to provide Iran with urban development expertise

TEHRAN - France is ready to provide Iran with urban development expertise, French Minister of Territorial Equality and Housing Sylvia Pinel stated.

She made the statement during a meeting in Paris with Iranian Transport and Urban Development Minister Abbas Akhoundi on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show, which opened on June 15.

During the meeting, Akhoundi said three French working groups will travel to Iran by the next two months.

Akhoundi also held a meeting with directors of the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF), or the Movement of the Enterprises of France, which is the main private-funded union of employers in France.

Akhoundi also met Airbus Chief Executive Fabrice Bregier and gave a speech at International Diplomatic Academy (ADI) on the prospects of lifting sanctions on the Iranian economy. 
France was the 48th biggest importer of Iranian non-oil goods in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on March 20, 2015, according to the Iran Customs Administration.   

Iran exported $31.52 million of non-oil goods to France and imported $571.25 million of non-oil goods from the country.
