TEHRAN -- A senior Iranian diplomat and nuclear negotiator says Tehran is not subject to pressure for reaching a comprehensive deal by any determined deadline.

Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi made the remarks in a meeting with Elmar Brok, chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, who led a delegation of MEPs to Tehran on Sunday.

The diplomat however stated Iran strenuously pursues a good deal with world powers over its nuclear program.

In case the opposite side does not make excessive demands, the talks will reach a result by the settled deadline, he said.
