TEHRAN – The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has said that reliance on domestic potential and confidence in resistance economy are key to resolve the nuclear issue and economic problems facing the country.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks in a gathering of Majlis representatives on Wednesday.

“If we increase production and use domestic potential, it will be easy to solve external problems such as the nuclear issue in addition to internal problems,” he stated.

He stated that there is no “deadlock” in the country and increasing domestic production and observing “financial discipline” are the ways to solve problems.

“On increasing production, the government repeatedly says that we are suffering from lack of resources. I am aware of this matter and the sanctions have affected lack of resources, but one should seek solution in this situation?” he stated.

A solution to shortage of resources is to “prioritize” allocation of resources and observe “financial discipline”, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader called on the parliament to have interaction with the government.

Noting that trust is an element of interaction, the Leader highlighted the necessity of “respectful” and “polite” behavior toward ministers.

The Leader also stated that the Majlis should stick to the “principled position” of the system.

On the nuclear talks, he stated, “Our position in the nuclear issues are the ones that have been told to the people publicly and to the officials orally and in written form. But some points have been told privately to stress and explain the principled position.”

The Leader went on to say that the nuclear negotiators who are working hard should “insist” on Iran’s declared position in the talks.

“They must insist on the declared position and I hope that they can protect the interests of the country and the system.”

The Leader also said a possible conclusion of nuclear talks will not lead to an end of seeking pretexts against Iran by the West.

“Except the nuclear issue other serials like human rights are awaiting us.”
