TEHRAN - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan on Sunday expressed confidence about the resounding defeat of those who have launched a military aggression against Yemen, particularly the Al-Saud regime.

“Genocide, committing war crimes, oppression, and aggression will result in nothing but destruction and extinction [of invaders], as God has promised, and such promise is unchangeable,” Dehqan said.

“The oppressed people of Yemen will undoubtedly emerge victorious in this war,” the Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.

Denouncing the “deplorable catastrophes” in the wake of Saudi-led military attacks on Yemen, Dehqan criticized the West’s muted response to the massacre of women and children in the Arab country.

He also linked the Islamic world’s problems to division and discord among Muslims.

Since March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been pounding Yemen in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

According to Yemen’s Freedom House Foundation, the Saudi airstrikes have claimed the lives of nearly 4,000 Yemeni people so far while more than 7,000 others have been wounded, most of them civilians.
