Tehran to host ECO’s 3rd High Level Experts Group’s meeting on energy

TEHRAN- The third meeting of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)’s High Level Experts Group on energy will kick off today in Tehran, according to the ECO’s official website.
The two-day event will be hosted by the Iranian Oil Ministry and will review state affairs of energy cooperation within the Organization, including the implementation of the ECO Plan of Action on Energy/Petroleum Cooperation (2011-2015), decisions and recommendations of the 3rd ECO Ministerial Meeting on Energy/Petroleum and the new platforms for energy cooperation among ECO member states.ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey for the purpose of promoting economic, technical and cultural cooperation among the member states. In 1992, the ECO expanded to include seven new members, namely Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
