TEHRAN – Iran Entezam has been selected as Iran’s best film photographer of the year for her collaboration with “Taboo” by director Khosro Masumi.

She was awarded at the closing ceremony of the 1st Iranian Society of Still Photographers Celebration, which was held at Tehran’s Qasr Garden Museum on Friday.

Fifty-eight other film photo collections were assessed by a jury of veteran photographers at the celebration.

The organizers also honored veteran film photographers Akbar Esfahani, Ali Nikraftar and Ghogha Bayat with lifetime achievement awards on the sidelines of the event.

Actors Reza Kianian and Mahtab Keramati received awards due to their special regard for the art of photography.

A number of actors, directors, producers and cinematographers attended the celebration, which opened at the garden museum earlier on May 15.

Works by over 30 Iranian film photographers were put on display during the weeklong exhibit.

A collection of photos by Mohammad Foqani from “Muhammad (S), the Messenger of God”, Majid Majidi’s acclaimed movie about the childhood of the Prophet of Islam (S), was a highlight of the exhibition.
