‘Germany is ready to invest in Iran’s tourism industry’

TEHRAN -- Germany is ready to invest in Iran’s tourism industry, chairperson of the German Federal Parliament Tourism Committee Heike Brehmer announced during a meeting in Tehran on Monday.

Brehmer, headed a four-member delegation, had a meeting with Iran’s Cultural Heritage Tourism and Handicrafts Organization Masud Soltanifar on Tehran.

In the meeting, Brehmer called tourism as an important factor, which boosts friendly relationship with world.

During the meeting, Soltanifar said: “We try our best to remove all obstacles for foreign tourists to travel the country and to provide some facilities to issue visa”.

Iran also plans to develop facilities for residence of tourists including improvement of hotels’ qualities.

The delegation also visited historical cities of Isfahan and Shiraz.

Tourist attractions in Iran are interesting for German people, she said during a meeting with the Fars Province Governor Seyyed Mahmud Ahmadi in Shiraz on Tuesday.

Brehmer said that she came across some German tourists in Shiraz and they were satisfied with their sojourn in Iran.

Tourism is an important industry in Germany and over nine million people have related jobs, she added.

She called tourism industry a good strategy in development and entrepreneurship, which paves the way for introduction of different nations with each others.

She said that Germany is interested to boost relationship with Iran in tourism as well as academic and scientific fields.
