Caspian states’ reps describe their meeting as positive

TEHRAN - Representatives of the five Caspian Sea littoral states who participated in the 29th meeting of the special working group tasked with the formulation of the Caspian Sea legal regime issued a statement, in which they described the meeting as positive.
The meeting was held from July 19 to 20 in Moscow.The Iranian President’s special envoy for Caspian Sea affairs, Mohammad Mehdi Akhoundzadeh, represented the Islamic Republic at the meeting.
The statement read that the measures taken to implement the decisions made at the third summit of Caspian Sea littoral states held in Baku on November 18, 2010, were discussed during the meeting.
The representatives of the Caspian Sea states also called for an acceleration of efforts to implement the decisions made at the Baku summit, the statement added.
The provisions of the draft convention on Caspian Sea legal regime were also discussed during the meeting, it said.
In addition, it was agreed that the next meeting of the special working group would be held in Astana
