Egyptian cultural delegation visits Iran

TEHRAN -- A delegation of Egyptian cultural figures and artists travelled to Iran to boost cultural ties between the two countries.

In an interview with the iFilm, the Arabic TV channel owned by IRIB, the Egyptian director and actor Abdelaziz Makhyoun praised Iran’s welcoming of the delegation.
He said that Egyptians are eager to improve their relations with Iranians and this has become possible after the Egyptian revolution.
Makhyoun called the presence of the delegation in Iran a result of the revolution in Egypt as well as Iran’s Islamic Revolution.
Journalist Wael Al-Abrashi, and Egyptian politicians Assam Sultan and Ibrahim Zahran are other members of the delegation.
In a letter brought by the delegation, the Shia’s Aal al-Beit Research Center in Cairo also asked for boosting cinematic cooperation between two countries.
Written by the head of the center Mohammed Al-Dereini, the letter includes the center’s proposal for boosting cinematic activities and making joint TV series.
In the letter, Al-Dereini also welcomed the dubbing of Iranian TV series into Arabic for Egyptian viewers.
The center also proposed boosting ties between Al-Azhar University and Qom Seminary to approximate Muslims around the world.
