TEHRAN – The Iranian parliament has given an official warning to the government about the delay in the formation of the sports and youth ministry.

The Majlis has given an official warning to the government about the delay in the formation of the sports and youth ministry and the nomination of the sports minister, Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said at the open session of the Majlis on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Majlis speaker had written to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, criticizing the administration for not implementing the parliamentary ratification concerning the formation of the sports and youth ministry.
MP Jalal Yahya-Zadeh also told the Mehr News Agency last week that April 9 was the deadline for the formation of the ministry and if it was not met, the parliament would make efforts to put this law into effect by exercising its authority.
On July 2, 2011, the parliament gave final approval to a proposal calling for the merger of the Physical Education Organization and the National Youth Organization to form the sports and youth ministry.
