TEHRAN – Iran joins the other five developed countries in gaining access to the technology to design and manufacture Inertial Electrostatic Confinement Fusion (IECF).

The United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia and France have been the only five countries that developed the technology before.
Inertial-Electrostatic Confinement Fusion (IECF) was first proposed in the 1950's. It is basically a beam-beam colliding fusion device with an extremely compact and simple configuration.
IECF injects ions and electrons towards the spherical center, trapping both species in the electrostatic self-field and giving rise to fusion reactions in the dense core. The majority of the fusion reaction occurs as collisions between the beam and the neutral gas because the gas density is much higher than density of high-energy particles, and the contribution of beam collision reaction (Beam-Beam Fusion) is little
