Soft war more fatal than military confrontation: Iranian general

TEHRAN – A senior IRGC commander believes the soft war launched against Iran is more destructive than military confrontation, saying its victims could reach millions.
“This war has complex aspects and its fatalities, contrary to hard war, could be millions,” Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri stated on Saturday.“It has been for years that we are the target of enemies’ soft war, but unfortunately we became aware of this war late,” he stated.
The enemies are making efforts to cause despair among the Iranian people, the general noted.
Early in December 2010, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heydar Moslehi said 80 organizations that are seeking to overthrow the Islamic establishment of Iran are based in the United States.
It is estimated that $2 billion is allocated to these organizations annually, the cleric minister stated.
Moslehi added, “The enemy has a long-term plan in the area of soft war and has spent over $17.7 billion in order to topple the sacred establishment of the Islamic Republic over the past 19 years.”
