Fajr Intl. Theater Festival announces programs for national section

TEHRAN -- The Fajr International Theater Festival, which will be held from February 12 to 20 in Tehran, announced its programs for the national section during press conference on Monday.

Theater workshops will be held simultaneously in Tehran and capitals of provinces from February 5 to 12, the secretary of the festival Mohammad Heidari mentioned at the conference.
The stage, street and international performances will go on stage in Tehran’s theaters from February 20, he added.
In the regional theater section, twelve plays, which were the Marivan National Theater Festival winners from eleven provinces, will go on stage during the festival, he mentioned.
Twenty plays will go on stage at the Iran Theater Retrospective section and nine plays will be performed in the play-reading section, Heidari mentioned.
Theater scholars from 19 countries including the U.S., Croatia, Georgia, China, Turkey, France and Canada will present papers during the festival, he added. However names of the participants was not announced.
He went on to say that fourteen articles by Iranian scholars have been accepted and will be published in a journal during the festival.
The Iran Theater Market will be held from February 12 to 16 and each day is dedicated to ten theater troupes, he said.
A press conference on the international section will be held in the near future, he concluded.
