Ambassador: Iran seeking ties with Moscow based on mutual trust

TEHRAN – Iranian Ambassador to Russia Reza Sajjadi and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs Alexei Borodavkin had a meeting in Moscow on Friday, discussing important bilateral and regional issues.

Sajjadi said Iran and Russia should expand their relations based on mutual trust and respect. He also said the two sides should make efforts to serve strategic interests.
He went on to say that Tehran and Moscow share many things in common in respect to regional and international issues, especially in geopolitics.
The ambassador said two nations can cooperate in numerous areas.
Sajjadi also expressed hope that a new chapter would open in cultural and economic ties between the two countries in the New Year.
Borodavkin also expressed hope that the two states expand their relations in all spheres
