TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that Islamic unity will foil the enemies’ plots and undermine the morale of the enemies who are trying to create divisions among Muslims.

“Various anti-Islamic and anti-truth groups are fighting against Islam, (but) the manifestation of Islamic unity and the grandeur of the Islamic ummah can destroy the morale of the enemies of Islam,” Ayatollah Khamenei said at a meeting with Iranian hajj officials on Saturday, held just ahead of the annual gathering of Muslims in Mecca for the hajj pilgrimage, which occurs in the middle of November this year according to the Islamic lunar calendar.
The hegemonistic powers are attempting to identify the Muslims’ weak points and infiltrate into the Muslim world in order to create discord among Muslims, but the display of Islamic unity at hajj will foil their plots, he said.
Zionist and U.S. elements are looking for an opportunity to turn Muslims against each other through religious, sectarian, and ethnic conflicts, so Islamic governments and peoples should be vigilant in the face of the enemies’ divisive plans, otherwise the global arrogance (imperialist powers) will be able to undermine Islam, he stated.
The Leader said that the major issues facing the Muslim world, such as the Palestine crisis, should be highlighted during the great gathering of Muslims.
The Zionists have occupied the Islamic territories of Palestine for the past 60 years and are committing crimes every day, but most of the governments of Islamic countries are silent, despite the Palestinians’ calls for justice and help, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
He went on to say that the hajj presents a great opportunity for the Muslim world to unanimously express their support for the oppressed Palestinian nation.
“In light of the problems facing the Muslim world and the current international situation, the proper observance of the hajj rituals is more necessary and more important than ever,” the Leader noted.
“The collective, proper, and responsible passage of the Islamic ummah during the hajj can restore the Muslim world’s dignity, strength, and hope,” he added.
