My first day at school

Hi friends,

I am Arian Mehrbod. Last Thursday was my first day of school.
My first day in school was unforgettable. I was sleepy but my brain was working hard. I was thinking about what will happen on my first day of school. I woke up early that day. I put on my new uniform, new socks, new shoes and I had taken my new bag. Every thing was new for me.
Before living home for school my mom gave me the Holy Book, I kissed it and she hoped all the best for me. She wished me to study hard at the school until I get to a university! She gave me some sweets! Then, my dad took many photos of me in my new uniform.
I was happy, excited and worry. I was happy because I will learn to study my storybooks myself not asking my parents or my sister, Atria, to read it for me. Worry for the reasons that will my teacher be nice? Will I make friends? What if I couldn’t get A mark at school?!
I, along with my mom, dad and Atria, left home for Jamshide Jam school at 7:30 am. Other parents accompanied their children as well. There were lots of colorful balloons stuck to the school’s door. There was a table at the corner of schoolyard on which was lots of flowers and gifts. I was thinking that, “was one of them belongs for me?”
The school bell rang and we queued in a line. The principal came and he talked about the rules of school. They weren’t difficult to obey. Then he made a roll-call and the pupils raised their hand once they heard their names. He also called me and asked whether my bag is full or empty? What a strange question? What should be in my bag? I didn’t answer. I took a glanced to my mom and she answered smilingly, “it is empty, sir”.
Then the moment came. A lady gave a red rose and a gift to each student. Every parent was taking photos.
Soon a lady teacher came and led us to different classrooms. There, we were put into separate classes. This was when some children began to cry as the parents were not allowed into the classrooms. I did not cry because I had been to kindergarten before. When I entered the classroom my teacher introduced herself to us and told me to sit in the first bench. I sat beside Farhood, my friend in the pre-school.
She told us that this year we will learn how to read and write. Then she told us that we can go to the schoolyard and play soccer. We played soccer. I kicked the ball so many times. It was an enjoyable time for me as I got to know my new classmates.
Finally, the bell rang for us to go home. Some of us were very relieved to be reunited with our parents. I too was glad to see my mother waiting for me at the school gate. I had made many friends.
On the way to home we ate an ice-cream. It had been a wonderful first day at school.
