TEHRAN -- Over 140 foreign films have been submitted to the secretariat of Iran’s Sacred Defense Film Festival.

The films are from the U.S., England, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Ukraine, Austria, Japan, India, and several other countries, the secretariat of the festival announced in a press release on Sunday.
Members of the selecting board Alireza Raissian, Shafi Aqamohammadian, and Mohammad Atebbaii will choose a lineup for the International Competition section of the festival.
After a five-year hiatus, the 11th edition of the festival is scheduled to be held in Kerman from September 20 to 24.
Twenty-five movies by Iranian filmmakers will be screened in the national section of the festival, which has been established to commemorate the anniversary of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which is known as the Sacred Defense in Iran.
