Iran, Turkmenistan to Promote Tourism Cooperation

ASHKHABAD Iran and Turkmenistan signed a protocol here Saturday to promote Tehran-Ashkhabad tourism cooperation. The protocol was signed by Deputy Head of Iran Touring and Tourism Organization, Mohsen Emami, and Head of Turkmenistan's Tourism Organization. According to the protocol, the two countries agreed to plan a joint international tourism route to promote tourism along the Silk Road. The agreement envisages opening of tourism agencies in accordance with the laws of the two countries, exchanging university students and experts as well as establishing transport offices.

Meanwhile, tours will be arranged for tourism officials of Turkmenistan to become familiar with Iran's tourist attractions as to be better able to arrange Iran tours. (IRNA)
