TEHRAN – Kuwait is determined to boost its economic relations with Iran, the advisor to the Kuwaiti prime minister stated.

Ismail Khudhr al-Shatti said in a meeting with Iranian Economic Affairs and Finance Minister Shamseddin Hosseini that his country welcomes expansion of ties with Iran especially in customs and banking sectors, ILNA New Agency reported on Wednesday.
“Kuwaiti firms are ready to invest in Iran, particularly in the foodstuff industry,” al-Shatti explained.
Shamseddin Hosseini, for his part, put the two-way annual trade at about 500 million dollars, adding that the figure is dissatisfactory considering potentials of the two countries.
He went on to note that Iran is ready to hold a conference for introducing its investment opportunities to the Kuwaiti investors
