22% increase in aluminum production

TEHRAN –- Aluminum production in Iran during the first six months of the Iranian calendar year (starting March 2009) reached 143,622 tons which is in comparison 22 per cent more than the same period the year before.

Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) quoted Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) stating that aluminum export in the first six months of the Iranian calendar year was 78,693 tons, indicating an increase of 18 percent with a value worth $124.5 million.
The production of Almahdi and IRALCO aluminum factories during the Iranian month of Sharivar (23 August to 22 September) reached 23,417 tons in total which is 17 per cent more compared to the same period of the previous year
