Commander stresses IRGC's defensive role

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari on Saturday highlighted his forces' deterrent role in defending the country.

""IRGC's different missions with various specifications and features along with its role in the confrontation against different threats have given more color and importance to the defensive role of the IRGC,"" Jafari said while addressing a ceremony to introduce the new commander of the IRGC's aerospace force.
He further cautioned that threats against the Islamic of Republic are massive and various and that each of the Iranian armed forces is tasked with confronting a series of threats.
At the ceremony, Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh was introduced as the new commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force.
Hajizadeh replaced Brigadier General Hossein Salami who has been promoted to the IRGC lieutenant commander.
