Basij will merge into IRGC ground forces: reports

TEHRAN – The Basij force will be merged into the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) ground forces for better coordination, reports say.

Widespread changes have take place in the IRGC structure since Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari took over the IRGC commander.
Accordingly, the incumbent Basij commander, Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb, will take a new post in the IRGC. He is also a nominee for taking the post of the National Charity Organization director.
Hojjatoleslam Taeb was said to be a nominee for the post of intelligence minister. However, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad picked Hojjatoleslam Heydar Moslehi for the post
