Iranian Player Ranks 3rd at Int'l Chess Contests

MADRID The Iranian chess player, Atousa Pourkashian, in the under-10 category of the 14th World Youth Chess Championship in Castellon, Spain, jointly ranked third with her Georgian counterpart. Shadi Paridar, another chess player of Iran participating in under-12 age group, stood at 7th place among 84 players. Javad Alavi Moqaddam, the reigning under-10 world champion but competing in under-12 category this year, also ranked 13th among 99 participants.
