Iran, Libya Ink MoU on Bilateral Cooperation

ROME The Islamic Republic of Iran and Libya have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cultural, economic, industrial and technical cooperation. The MoU at the end of the eighth session of Iran-Libya joint commission, was signed by Iran's Minister of Labor Hossein Kamali, also the Iranian chairman of the joint economic commission, and the Libyan Secretary for Education and Scientific Research Mehdi Ambirash, also the Libyan chairman of the joint economic commission, in Tripoli. The MoU on cultural cooperation covers issues such as exchange of university students, setting up Farsi language courses in libya as well as scientific, research and press cooperation.
The Iranian minister had before met and conferred with the Libyan Prime Minister Mohammed al-Mangush. In the meeting, the Iranian minister briefed the Libyan Prime Minister on the progress of the joint economic commission. The Libyan Prime Minister said that the two countries should work to upgrade their economic cooperation to complement their already satisfactory political ties. (IRNA)
