Lebanon president calls for regular consultations with Iran

BEIRUT (IRNA) -- Lebanese President Michel Suleiman here on Tuesday underscored the need for regular consultations between Iranian and Lebanese officials.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad-Reza Sheibani.President Suleiman said that regular consultations on various regional and international issues will benefit both countries as well as the entire region.
Referring to the turmoil in Iran in the aftermath of presidential election on June 12, he added that such events are Iran’s domestic affairs.
The Iranian envoy said for his part that leaders of both Iran and Lebanon are determined to further boost all-out cooperation.
He voiced Tehran’s readiness to help promote national unity among various Lebanese groups and political parties.
