Presidential election was milestone in Iran’s history: president

TEHRAN – The president-elect Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called the June 12 presidential election a milestone in the history of humanity and the Islamic Revolution.
In a meeting with a group of lawmakers Tuesday evening, Ahmadinejad said that people voted for glory, advancement, sovereignty, brotherhood, unity and patriotism.He went on to say that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always challenged the world’s system, opining that Iran has succeeded to break up the political, scientific and theoretical imperialism.
The Islamic revolution itself and the success to master peaceful nuclear technology are good examples to this claim, he explained.
He said Iran has set the highest record in voter turnout among the other countries, adding that this victory will benefit Iranian nation in international relations.
Ahmadinejad also said the administration and the parliament pursue a common objective and that is to have a developed country.
The more cooperation and coordination between these two branches, the easier the goals can be accomplished, he said, adding the enemies are not able to stop the Iranian nation’s progress.
He also said the Iranian nation must realize their huge potential in order to solve any problems facing the country
