TEHRAN – Expediency Council Chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani and Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf inaugurated Tehran’s biggest flower and plant exhibit on Monday.
Rafsanjani thanked the Tehran Municipality staff for their efforts, saying that there are a number of efficient managers in the country’s management system who are aware of their responsibilities.Dozens of domestic and foreign companies are displaying their products at the exhibit.
Qalibaf said there are many opportunities in the flower industry, which can be used to transform Iran’s industry.
However, despite Iran’s proximity to countries that purchase flowers, the Islamic Republic has still not captured a substantial share of these markets, he added.
Given the fact that the cost of production in Iran is lower than in many other countries, Iran can become a major power in flower exports if it removes the obstacles that have obstructed Iran’s progress, he noted.
Hopefully, the international exhibit will inform Iranians about the economic aspects of the flower industry, the Tehran mayor said
