TEHRAN – Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani stated on Monday that the recent introduction of a bill in the U.S. Senate which seeks to sanction firms that sell gasoline to Iran will create a climate of distrust.

“Such moves in the U.S. are not new to us…but such issues and approaches will definitely create distrust,” he told reporters in a joint press conference with his Bosnian counterpart Beriz Belkic in Tehran.
Larijani said “these kinds of actions are the continuation of Americans’ silly policies”, adding Iran will prepare a response.
A group of 25 U.S. senators introduced the bill on 28 April.
The move by the U.S. senators comes as Iran and the 5+1 group have agreed to hold a new round of talks over Tehran’s nuclear program.
If the bill is approved by the Senate, the U.S. president will have authority to impose economic sanctions on foreign firms that sell, ship, or insure gasoline or other refined oil products to Iran. Foreign subsidiaries of U.S. firms also would be covered by the proposed legislation.
Bosnia will never forget Iran’s support during Balkan war
During the press conference the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament House of Representatives Speaker told reporters that his country will never forget Iran’s supports to Bosnia during the Balkan war.
“It is important for us to have a friend like Iran,” Beriz Belkic added.
Asked about economic relations between Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Zionist regime, he said Sarajevo does not have substantial economic relations with Tel-Aviv.
He also called for expansion of economic relations between Tehran and Sarajevo.
