Latest Figures on Experts Assembly's Elections-* MASSIVE VICTORY FOR CONSERVATIVES

TEHRAN The results of the Experts Assembly's elections held on Friday were announced for a number of provinces by the Interior Ministry yesterday. The winners whose names have been announced belong predominantly to the list of the conservatives. For instance, out of 37 winners announced at the time of this writing, 33 belonged to the joint list of Jame' Rouhaniyat Mobarez and the Society of the Teachers of Qom Seminary. People's participation in the elections was so massive that the polling time was extended by 3 to 4 hours.

The head of the central committee for the inspection of elections, Ali Akbar Rahmani said, there was no violation during the elections except in Tehran, Qom and East Azarbaijan provinces. Investigations have begun to study the irregularities. The report on the violation of candidates in the said provinces have been sent to the concerned officials. There were 10,000 election inspectors during the elections, he said.

The Experts Assembly members are elected for a period of eight years. The assembly elects and dismisses the leader. It also supervises Leader's performance.
