GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) -– A Palestinian health official says Israeli forces have shot and wounded three Palestinians along the border with the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Moaiya Hassanain says medics have not yet reached the men in the dangerous border zone because they are waiting for Israeli coordination.Israel's military says the men were armed. It says its forces entered Gaza and fired on them as they approached the border fence on Saturday.
Violence has been sporadic since Israel halted a three-week assault on Gaza in late January that was meant to stop rocket attacks.
There are fears, however, that occasional attacks could develop into larger clashes between Israel and Palestinian resistance fighters.
