TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian commander warned enemies that war with Iran is similar to entering an endless quagmire and Iran, if attacked, has plans to inflict high casualties on the enemy in a short time.

“Of course, given the damage assessment carried out by the enemy for the war on Iran, it avoids adoption of such a measure,” Lieutenant Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) General Mohammad Hejazi told FNA on Monday.
Referring to the enemies’ miscalculations and mistakes in the wars on Iraq and Afghanistan or the wars against Hezbollah in Lebanon and Gaza people, he said, “The reason that the enemies have not been able to do military action against Iran is their acquaintance with the issue (Iran’s power).”
He didn’t refuse enemy attacks on Iran, but meantime, stressed, “The enemy may be more advanced than us in their equipment but equipment is just one dimension of military power and the spirit and tactic are more important than equipment.”
The General referred to the victory of Hezbollah and Islamic resistance in Palestine against Israel’s powerful army by using light and uncomplicated weapons, and added, “Military equipment is important, but meantime, they are not decisive.”
On the changes made in the U.S. administration’s policy on Iran, Hejazi predicted that the type of threats against Iran will change and the new administration will use more economic, political and security pressures against Iran.
“We never rule out military threats (against Iran) although they (the enemies) do not view military action as a practical option against Iran as they are clearly aware of the Iranian armed forces’ preparedness”, he stressed.
