Iran, Switzerland hold talks on human rights

TEHRAN – The fourth round of talks between Iran and Switzerland on human rights was held in Bern on Tuesday.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Mohammad Ali Hosseini said negotiations is one of the principles of Iran’s foreign policy.
“About human rights the Islamic Republic is seeking to develop approaches based on negotiations,” he added.
“Purposeful negotiations are the only way to promote human rights and achieve common objectives.”
He said Iran and Switzerland should utilize their potential to promote dialogue between the Islamic world and the West.
Swiss deputy foreign minister said Bern is interested in expansion of cooperation with the Islamic Republic as part of efforts to promote human rights in the world.
Hosseini also expressed concern over the widespread discrimination towards Muslims and immigrants in Europe
