World Children Day Marked in Iran

TEHRAN A ceremony was held here at the Center for the Children and Young Adults Intellectual Development on Thursday on the occasion of the World Children Day. A large number of students were present at the ceremony where Interior Minister Abdolvahed Mousavi Lari presented awards to the students who had won prizes in `98 Nippon Painting Contest, held in Japan recently.

Fairs on the sideline of the ceremony were displaying artworks by children and young adults, including paintings, potteries and handicrafts. Iran's Center for Children and Young Adults Intellectual Development had sent 94 paintings to Nippon contest, winning four gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals. Talking to IRNA after the ceremony, Lari said that parents' proper understanding of the children would greatly help with securing a better future.
