TEHRAN – Deputy Commerce Minister Mehdi Ghazanfari announced on Wednesday that Iran will be holding a Fishery Day in Spain in the near future.

The event will feature an exhibition of Iran’s fisheries products at Madrid’s Marko Market, Ghazanfari said in a meeting with Iranian fishery officials in Tehran.
The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) will actively participate in this national project and will provide funding to the fishery companies that participate in the event, he added.
The Iranian ambassador to Spain is currently in Tehran and also attended the meeting. Ambassador Davud Salehi said that Spanish officials are eager to boost trade and economic ties with Iran.
Iran produces 500-600 tons of fishery products annually, and Spain acts as the gateway to Europe, which is the main target market. Iran exports 97 percent of its fisheries products, with 28 percent of the total figure going to Spain
