Iran-Azerbaijanborder ties amicable

ARDEBIL (IRNA) -- Commander of Iranian boarder guards Brigadier Qassem Rezaei said on Tuesday that Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy amicable border relations.

In a meeting with an Azeri delegation in Parsabad of Ardebil headed by Azerbaijan’s commander of border guards, Rezaei said, “There is no major problem along the two sides’ border.
Holding joint border meetings indicates that Iran’s foreign policy is based on making friendly relationship with neighborly countries, Rezaei said.
Both the Iranian and Azeri governments have paved the ways for mutual border bonds, he said, adding that Iran is optimistic about expansion of Tehran-Baku ties.
Calling border guards as the country’s peace defenders, Rezaei said that their primary responsibility is to establish peace in borders and then defend the country.
