Syria calls for expansion of ties with Iran

TEHRAN, May 10 (MNA) – Syrian ambassador to Tehran highlights the expansion of Tehran-Damascus relations.

Meeting Ruhollah Qahremani Chabok, Gilan’s governor general, Hamed Hassan put the mutual trade volume at $300 million, “the figure is not that we speculated,” he said.
The official added that the trade volume of Syria and Turkey stands at over $3 billion, emphasizing on increasing the transaction with Iran to $1.3 billion.
The ambassador said that the sides could have cooperation in the fields of tourism, culture, agriculture, and free zones.
Hassan expressed hope that the northern Gilan Province will boost ties with Syrian Provinces of Damascus, Aleppo, and Al Ladhiqiyah.
