Iran, Tatarstan ties on the rise

TEHRAN — A video conference titled “Iran and Tatarstan – ways of cooperation”, was held on February 7 in Kazan, the capital city of the Republic of Tatarstan. Mr. Reza Bagheban Kondori, the Consul General of Iran in Tatarstan took part in the conference, IRNA reported.

Kondori said that Tatarstan president Mintimer Shaimiev at the top of a delegation will pay a visit to Iran in the near future. He said that the sides has implemented numbers of joint ventures like the Russian KAMAZ truck manufacturing in Iran, adding meetings have been held with RT Ministry of Industry and Trade Alexander Kogogin and RT Minister of Economy Marat Safiullin in a bid to reinforce mutual ties.
The sides have also been working on developing the bilateral collaboration in the fields of culture and education, the official cited. According to the words of the Consul General, Days of Iranian Culture will be organized in Kazan and the citizens will have a chance to see art works in national Iranian style.
Iran is going to celebrate one of main celebrations of his country, the Day of Islamic revolution Victory on Feb. 11, Kondori informed. The Consulate General of Iran in Kazan was inaugurated last month. Tatarstan is a federal subject of the Russian Federation, located in the center of the East European Plain, approximately 800 kilometers (497 mi) east of Moscow. It lies between the Volga River and the Kama River (a tributary of the Volga), and extends east to the Ural Mountains
