Nicaragua keen on expanding Iran ties

Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega expressed his country’s interest to expand economic ties with Iran, during a visit to Venezuela.
He made the statement during the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s corn factory in Maturin, Venezuela, Caracas News reported.Nicaragua’s relationship with independent and self-sufficient countries around world is flourishing and Nicaragua currently has close cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields including Iran’s exports of tractors to Venezuela and Nicaragua, he said.
Ortega went on to explain, “These tractors are of great help to our farmers in enhancing their production levels and we want to see an increase in exports of these tractors and other technical agricultural equipments from Iran to our country.”
The president concluded by saying that in its bid to its reach economic goals, Nicaragua is expanding its cooperation with the Islamic Republic.
