Drilling Exposition opens in southern Iran

TEHRAN (PIN) – The 5th Drilling Exposition was inaugurated by Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari in Ahvaz, the capital of southern Khuzestan Province, Saturday, Dec. 22, marking the 28th anniversary of National Iranian Drilling Company.

The solo exhibition is held in a parcel of land with 2,000 square meters, displaying the latest achievements and products of domestic manufacturers in 90 stands.
Nozari visited the pavilions and was briefed on domestic capabilities.
The expo is open to the public for four days.
Earlier in the day, the minister attended a ceremony to celebrate the 28th anniversary of NIDC.
The ceremony was held in the amphitheater of the company, where National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Deputy Mohammad-Javad Assemipur, the Leader’s representative in Khuzestan Province and Ahvaz Friday prayers leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad-Ali Jazayeri, Khuzestan Province governor general, and a number of managers and officials of affiliated companies of Petroleum Ministry were also present.
Nozari gave his message to industrialists on the 28th anniversary of NIDC.
Late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (RA), issued a historical decree 28 years ago and National Iranian Drilling Company was set up on Dec. 22, 1979, read the message.
“I hereby express my congratulations to industrious oil industrialists particularly the hardworking staff of drilling industry on the auspicious occasions, wishing great success for them,” wrote the minister.
“During the past 28 years, the personnel of drilling industry have made every effort to indigenize the strategic industry, making successes in different stages,” continued the message.
“I extend my appreciation to dear colleagues for their unflinching efforts, expressing hope the NIDC will make more serious attempts and have a strong presence in the international markets,” he added.
