Iranian illustrators win four awards at Belgrade biennial

TEHRAN -- Iranian book illustrator Hoda Haddadi won the grand prix of the 9th International Biennial of Illustration 2007 held at the Progress Gallery in Belgrade, Serbia.

She won the prize for illustrating a book she authored herself entitled “Two Friends”, which was published by the Shabaviz Publishing Company.
Haddadi will be a jury member of the next biennial in 2009, where she will also hold an exhibit of her illustration works.
Second prize went to Amin Hassanzadeh for illustrating the book “Spring Morning” written by Hamid Navaii Lavasani.
Saba Masumian (“Wolves and Men”) and Negin Ehtesabian (“Who Won? Who Lost?”) also won prizes.
The two books were written by Farideh Khalatbari, who was also the only Iranian jury member of the event.
