TASHKENT (IRNA) -- First Vice President Parviz Davudi said on Saturday that Iran's nuclear program is in right direction and legitimate according to Non-Proliferation Treaty.

He said that Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency are currently working to resolve the outstanding issues about the national nuclear program.
Davudi made the remarks in a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, underlining that the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided the IAEA with responses to remaining questions.
Davudi noted that all countries are entitled to produce nuclear energy.
Pointing to the close relations between Tehran and Beijing in various fields, he added that cooperation should develop comprehensively to keep up with the economic growth.
Davudi referred to China as major Iranian economic partner, saying that both states can expand cooperation with the aim of accelerating the implementation of joint economic projects.
He said there are abundant potentials to expand Tehran-Beijing relations citing petrochemical, oil and gas, transportation, constructing power plant, and establishing east-west corridor.
Meanwhile, he pointed to the essential impacts of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in international interactions, and said that the organization can help boost economic development, prosperity and security of regional and Asian nations.
Davudi arrived in Tashkent on Friday to take part in the Sixth Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in participation of prime ministers and vice presidents of member states.
Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan are member states of the organization, and Iran, India, Pakistan and Mongolia take part in its meetings as observers.
Next SCO summit will be held in Moscow next year (summer in 2008).
Kazakhstan will host the SCO next prime ministers council in Almaty.
