Three victories for Iranian women chess players

TEHRAN – Iranian women chess players gained 3 victories, 4 equals and 1 loss in the 4th round of the 12th Asian Women’s Chess Championships held here on Thursday.

The Public Relations Office of the Chess Federation's Competitions Committee said that 32 female chess players from many countries including China, Vietnam, Mongolia, Lebanon, India and Iran participated in the tournament.
Iranian chess players Shirin Navayee, Atoosa Pourkashian and Shayesteh Ghaderpour triumphed over their Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian counterparts; Shadi Paridar, Shohreh Bayat, Sareh Tajik and Ghazal Hakimifard equalized with their Chinese, Indian and Iranian partners and Mona Salman Mahini lost the game to her Chinese master opponent.
The 12th Asian Women’s Chess Championships was held in 9 rounds in the Swiss-method of contests with the participation of 12 grand masters, 5 international masters and 6 FIDE masters.
