French Foreign Minister Due in Tehran on Friday

TEHRAN Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mahmood Mohammadi said on Monday that French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine will arrive in Tehran on Friday heading a political, economic and parliamentarian delegation. Mohammadi told IRNA that the French foreign minister will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Kamal Kharrazi and some other top officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Foreign Ministry spokesman said talks about important regional and international issues and ways for contributing to boosting stability and peace in crisis-ridden regions are on the agenda of the talks to be held between the French delegation and the Iranian side.
He said according to political experts, the visit by the French foreign minister is of great importance and can be regarded as a turning point in Tehran-Paris relations. Mohammadi stressed that the visit will open up new chapters in age-old relations and constructive cooperation between Iran and France in mutual regional and international aspects.
