Iran set to export over 3m tons of steel products by mid-March ’08

TEHRAN – The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) predicted here on Tuesday that steel and crude steel exports will increase to 3.057 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2008).
IMIDRO plans to export 90 thousand tons of copper cathode, 117 thousand tons of copper concentrate, some 100 thousand tons of aluminum, 29 thousand tons of alumina, and 5.485 million tons of ironstone concentrate.
The volume of steel and crude steel sales in domestic market will rise to 9.723 million tons, said the organization.
