TME up 98% for week

TEHRAN – A total of 134,275 tons of steel, copper, aluminum, concentrates of precious stones and molybdenum products worth around Rls.91,045,785,000 were traded at Tehran Metals Exchange (TME) in the past week ending Wednesday, Dec. 13.

The amount of the metals offered at the exchange during the week increased about 98 percent in terms of volume and 66 percent in terms of value.

The 280,400 tons of demand for the metals outweighed the total of 205,595 tons of supply of the commodities offered at the exchange during the week, however.

Some 128,070 tons of various steel products worth Rls.694.121 billion were traded at the metals market accounting for 95.38 percent of the weight and 63.62 percent of the value of all the transactions closed during the week.

In the same period, 5,140 tons of copper products valued at Rls.337.112 billion changed hands at the exchange, accounting for 3.83 percent of the weight and 21.73 percent of the value of the total deals closed at the exchange.

Also during the week, 980 tons of aluminum products worth Rls.30.15 billion changed hands at the metal exchange, accounting for 0.73 percent of the weight and 2.76 percent of the value of the total deals closed at the exchange.

Around 60 tons of molybdenum sulfur valued at Rls.13.59 billion was transacted at the TME accounting for 0.04 percent of the weight and 1.24 percent of the value of the total deals closed at the exchange in the same period.

As for the precious metal concentrates group, 25 tons of various steel products worth Rls.16,069,475,000 were traded at the metals market accounting for 0.02 percent of the weight and 1.47 percent of the value of all the transactions closed during the week.

No zinc products were offered at the metal exchange during the week, however, the Persian service of MNA quoted the TME Information and Public Relations Office as saying on Friday.
