IRGC Opens Air Base in Mashhad

MASHHAD, Khorasan Province The Islamic Revolution Gaurd Corps (IRGC) on Monday opened Martyr Kaveh Air Base in Mashhad, Khorasan Province in northeast of Iran. Commander of IRGC Air Force Brigadier General Baqer Qalibaf said the objective behind opening the base was to support the Ground Forces of IRGC and establish greater security in border areas northeast of the province. He said that the air base in Mashhad with the support of IRGC Ground Forces will enhance stability and security in villages and towns bordering Afghanistan. The commander further stated that IRGC is equipped with advanced missiles, some of which are manufactured by the corps.
